LA CROSSE, WIS.-The Bethel University Royals competed on day one of the 2026 NCAA Division III Outdoor Track & Field Championship in La Crosse, Wisconsin on Thursday.
MEN
Timmy Ball registered a 10th-place toss of 49.66m in the discus, which landed him All-American Second Team distinction. Ball's 10th place standing is two spots above his seed position of No. 12 heading into the NCAA Outdoor Championship. This marked the fourth time the Royals earned Outdoor All-American in the discus, and the second time for Ball after his eighth-place standing in 2025 earned him a spot on the First Team.
The 4x400 Meter Relay Team of Elliott Kent, Caleb Ketterling, Tony Haack, and Grant Nelson prevailed with a 3:11.22 in the prelims, which put them in fourth place and locked them a spot in the finals on Saturday, May 23 at 4 p.m.
Cameron McConnell represented the Royals in the 200 meter dash prelims, where he took 22nd place with a 22.14.
WOMEN
The 4x400 meter relay team of Madi Pelowski, Ashley Slaybaugh, Hannah Bingham, and Shalom Sulungaine broke the school record with a fourth-place time of 3:44.41 in the prelims, which earned them a spot in the finals scheduled for Saturday, May 23 at 3:50 p.m. They broke their own school record mark of 3:44.97 achieved at the Drake Relays on April 22.
