BLOOMINGTON, Minn. – For the second consecutive week, senior forward
Taite Anderson has been named the Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (MIAC) Women's Basketball Athlete of the Week. It is the third time in three seasons that a Bethel student-athlete has earned the honor in back-to-back weeks. The last time came during the 2017-18 season where
Hannah Johnson accomplished the feat twice.
Anderson averaged 21.5 points per game leading Bethel to wins over two Top 25 teams in the span of four days. The MIAC's leading scorer posted a game-high 18 points in 24 minutes against No. 11 Augsburg on the road before putting up a game-high 25 points against No. 17 Gustavus at home.
Anderson shot 63.6 percent and was 4-of-5 from 3-point range, helping Bethel remain one of five undefeated teams in Division III. She currently ranks 22nd in the nation at 20.4 points per game and is fourth in the nation in field goal percentage at 64.5.
The Royals look to improve on their 13-0 record Wednesday when they host St. Olaf at 7 p.m. Bethel is also looking to match the program's longest winning streak at 14 games which dates back to the 1993-94 season. Oddly enough, that streak started with a 91-72 win at home over the Oles.
