Taite Anderson Named to USA D-3 Roster for Brazil Tour

ARDEN HILLS, Minn. – Senior forward Taite Anderson will have the opportunity to take her skills down to Brazil this summer. Anderson was recently named to the 2019 USA D-3 Women's Basketball Team – Brazil Tour, as announced by USA Sports Tours & Events.

"This is an outstanding group of basketball players," said Director of USA Sports Tours & Events Ron Smith. "We feel that we have some of the BEST of the BEST representing almost every region in the country. These players have been high achievers both on the court and in the classroom. They represent everything good that the NCAA Division III institutions have to offer."

A three-time All-MIAC selection, Anderson was the second leading scorer in the league this past winter with a team-leading 16.7 points per game. A 56.4 percent shooter from the field, Anderson led the MIAC with 450 total points and a 25 points per 40 minutes mark. From the charity stripe, she had the second most made free throws with 95 and led the league in free throw attempts with 163. Anderson helped lead the Royals offense pouring in double-digit scoring efforts in 25 of the 27 games played.

The USA D-3 Women's Basketball team will begin its Brazil tour in Orlando, Fla. on July 8 for orientation before departing for Sao Paulo, Brazil where its first practice takes place on July 9. Competition begins July 10 and runs through July 15 which includes a stop in Rio de Janeiro.

While in Brazil the teams will experience educational, cultural and social aspects of Brazilian life through city, school and sports club visits.  While in Rio the team will be staying on the famous Copacabana Beach and touring the Christ the Redeemer Statue and Sugar Loaf Mountain, two of the most recognizable landmarks in the world.
