RESULTS
The Bethel Royals ran, jumped, and threw their way to several top-3 finishes and all-time best marks as the women competed at Gustavus in the Drake Alternative Meet on Friday. The Royals were led by a 1-2 finish in the 800m. Freshmen teammates Grace Cole and Malakai Holloway traded the lead and worked together during the race. That teamwork eared Cole (2:24.26) and Holloway (2:24.94) season bests in that event.
Syri Williams had a fantastic day, as she came away with a 2nd place finish in the 100m hurdles with a time of 15.82. That is her best time in that event while wearing a Bethel uniform and ranked 8th in program history. Williams also jumped a Bethel-best 5.04m (16'6.5") in the long jump to earn 4th place. Teammate Grace Perrenoud took 2nd place in the long jump as she flew 5.38m (17'7.75"), which is the 3rd best jump in program history.
Perrenoud also raced her way to a 4th place finish in the 100m dash, running a season best 12.80. Teammate Grace Scott ran in the lane next to Perrenoud, and came away with 3rd place and a time of 12.75. Scott came back at the end of the meet to take 3rd place in the 200m with a season best time of 26.40.
Lauren Wanger continued her streak of personal bests this outdoor season, with a 10'4.5" PR of 41.01m (134'6.5") in the hammer throw. That puts Wagner at number 3 on Bethel's all-time list. Sadie Koelz took flight in the pole vault and cleared 3.11m (10'2.5") to take 3rd place. Taylor Finnes also earned a 3rd place finish for the Royals, as she crossed the finish line in 1:11.22 in the 400m hurdles. Finnes was joined by teammates Lauren Conradi, Amy Reimer, and Lydia Crow to take 3rd in the 4x400m relay with a time of 4:25.36.
The Royals had several other finishers in the top-8.
