Women's 4x4 Runs #1 Time in Division III

RESULTS

MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. – The Royals women's 4x400m relay team's NCAA Division III leading time highlighted the Parent's Day Open at the University of Minnesota. The team of Hannah Sankey, Delia Labatt, Corin McKinstrey, and AddieKay Johnson ran a nation-leading time of 3:53.36. Since the NCAA Division III Championship Meet will be held on a banked track, the NCAA converts times run on a flat track. The Royals' time converts to 3:50.30.

"Our field event athletes did amazing today," says Head Coach Andrew Rock. "Grace (Perrenoud), Sadie (Koelz), and Lauren (Wagner) really stepped up and had an awesome meet. The 4x4 was beyond what we expected today. They performed unbelievably well and we're excited to see what that group can do going forward."

Bethel had an excellent day in the field events. Grace Perrenoud jumped her way to third place in the long jump. Her leap of 5.28m (17'4") is the third best jump in the MIAC this year, and the third best jump in program history. Perrenoud also had a season best in the triple jump of 10.68m (35'0.5") which placed her fourth. Sadie Koelz set a personal record in the pole vault by clearing the bar at 3.25m (10'8"). That is the fourth best mark in the MIAC this season and the third best vault in program history. Lauren Wagner placed fifth in the unseeded section of the weight throw by tossing a personal best 12.79m (41'11.5"). That throw is the third best mark in program history. Malachi Holloway placed eighth in the mile by racing to a season best 5:27.26.

"After this weekend, we're ready to roll into our championship season now," says Head Coach Andrew Rock. The Royals will compete next at the MIAC Indoor Championships, which takes place February 21-23 at St. Olaf College.
