NORTHFIELD, Minn. - The Bethel Royals came away with MIAC-topping marks at the St. Olaf Quadrangular Meet on Friday evening. The 400-meter runners led the way for the women's team as they swept the top three spots in the 400m and took home the 4x400m relay title to end the night.
2018 Indoor All-American, Delia Labatt, won the 400m in a MIAC leading time of 59.17. That mark also places her 10th on the NCAA Division III national honor roll. Senior captain AddieKay Johnson earned second place in the 400m by dipping under one minute with 59.72 - the second fastest time in the MIAC and 16th in Division III. Hannah Sankey placed third in the 400m by racing to a 1:00.06. She is currently third in the MIAC and 22nd in Division III.
Freshman Grace Perrenoud joined Labatt, Johnson, and Sankey in the 4x400m relay. The quartet raced to a time of 4:01.11, the fastest time in the MIAC and the 5th fastest time in NCAA Division III this season. Perrenoud also took second place in the triple jump earlier in the day, with her leap of 10.32m (33'10.25").
Anna Hage (11:05.87) led from wire to wire in the 3000m run to earn a victory for the Royals. Teammates Ellie Nelson (11:19.35) and Grace Cole (11:19.57) came in third and fourth in the 3000m. Syri Williams and Sadie Koelz earned a pair of second place finished. Williams ran 9.81 in the 60H, while Koelz vaulted her way to 2.75m (9'0.25"). Freshman Grace Scott blazed down the straightaway in 8.18 seconds to take third place in the 60m dash. Lauren Wagner took third place in the weight throw with a toss of 12.15m (39'10.25").
Next up for the Royals: the Gene Glader Classic. Bethel will get to host a meet on Saturday, February 2nd at the Sport and Recreation Center (SRC). Field Events begin at 10:30 AM while running events begin at 11:00 AM. Come out to support your Royals! Â
