LAKE CITY, Minn.—The Bethel University women's golf team rounded off another impressive weekend as they battled against 16 teams in the Division III Classic. The Royals managed to shave off three strokes in the second round of the tournament, achieving a 317, and finished with a combined score of 637. They closed the tournament in a tie for fourth place overall, falling short to Carleton College by just one stroke.
Out of the 93 competitors in Lake City this weekend, three Royals solidified a spot in the Top 20.
Christine Piwnica continued to impress, tying for seventh with a strong score of 152 for the weekend.
Leah Swanson fired an 82 in the opening round and bettered herself by nine strokes with a 73 in the second round. With her score on Sunday, Swanson finished in 10th place with a two-day total of 155.
Kayla Ruf also sealed a spot in the top 20 with a solid total of 160 strokes, allowing her to tie for 18th place.
The Royals look forward to competing in Hastings this Saturday and Sunday for the College City Challenge.
