Box Score NORTHFIELD, Minn. – The Bethel University men's soccer team was unable to hold on to their 1-0 lead and ultimately fell 2-1 in overtime on the road against Carleton College.
Ryan Ness gave the Royals the 1-0 lead early in the first period and the score stood until Carleton scored their first goal with just 13 minutes remaining in the game. The Knights were able to pull out the victory with a goal just under three minutes into the overtime period.

Jeremy Iwaszkowiec. "The boys battled well and really deserved more.
Ryan Ness scored a brilliant goal that we just couldn't make last. We are very close to turning a huge corner in our program. We need to keep our heads up, stay positive, and stay together."
Carleton outshot Bethel 15-4 for the game. Freshman
Jakob Bartels made 6 saves in goal for the Royals.
The loss drops Bethel to 0-3 in MIAC play and 4-6 overall. Carleton improved to 2-1 in the MIAC and 4-5 overall. The Royals will continue their road swing when they travel to the University of St. Thomas Tuesday afternoon to take on the Tommies.
