Box Score Box Score

ARDEN HILLS, Minn. – The Bethel University Men's soccer team was handed their second defeat of the season on Wednesday afternoon against the St. Olaf Oles.  The Royals put eight shots up against goaltender Ben Le Cam in the first half but were not able to convert while the Oles were able to score efficiently, getting on the board with just three shots.

For the first time in five games, the Royals entered the half trailing their opponent.  In light of this new situation for the Royals, coach Iwaszkowiec assessed his team's first half performance saying, "We had some chances, we had a lot to play for, we just needed a little more composure on the ball."

In spite of the Royals' aggressive tactics in the first half, they came up empty in the opening minutes of the final period, allowing a second goal to Jens Undlin in the 50th minute.  The Oles proceeded to outshoot the Royals by five shots and Undlin netted his third goal of the game in the 82nd minute to complete a hat-trick.  This defeat marks the end of a four game home winning streak for the Royals in which they outscored their opponents 22-3.

The Royals' will now look to regain momentum heading into a tough seven-game road stretch which will include several conference opponents.  They will play next at Wheaton College on Friday at 7 PM.
