Box Score ST. PAUL, Minn. – A frustrating season came to an end with a frustrating loss for the Bethel University men's soccer team at St. Thomas by a score of 5-0 Saturday afternoon. St. Thomas is the third seed in the upcoming MIAC playoffs and outshot the Royals 24-10 on the day. St. Thomas scored three minutes into the game and led 3-0 at the half before adding two more second period goals for the final margin.
“The effort and intensity are there,” Royals second year coach
Jeremy Iwaszkowiec said. “However, we have to learn from our mistakes and get mentally tougher. St. Thomas is a good team and we can't give away goals and hope to compete. With that said, the future is bright for Bethel soccer. We have a number of young, talented players, however, we have to learn how to be mentally tougher when things don't go our way and find some consistency over the course of the season.”
