BOX SCORE
ARDEN HILLS, Minn. - In their first home game back from the Christmas break, the Bethel Royals Women's Basketball squad put on a fine performance, defeating the Hamline Pipers 62-58 in the Robertson Center.
Following their impressive victories in the Land of Magic Tournament, the Royals continued their hot play Wednesday evening. The Royals led most of the game by a narrow margin, and went into the half ahead 34-31. Leading the charge for the Royals was
Kelly Swenson (So., Dawson, Minn.) as she collected 13 points in the first.
Scotti Moats (So., Waconia, Minn.) also had a fine half as she cranked out 10 points and 7 rebounds.
The Royals fought hard in the second to hold the lead as it was a back-and-forth affair for the duration of the half. Bethel found a lead late in regulation and did a nice job holding it as the seconds dwindled on the clock. Moats finished with a strong night as she had 17 points and 14 rebounds. Swenson finished her hot start with a solid second half as well, as she led the Royals in scoring on the evening with 21 points.
With the win the Royals now move to 3-3 in conference play and 5-4 overall. They will take on Augsburg College Saturday afternoon at the Robertson Center at 1 p.m.
