Box Score
ARDEN HILLS, Minn. - Bethel all but erased the memory of two losses earlier in the week with an 82-56 win over the St. Olaf Oles at home today. The Royals were 11-for-18 from behind the 3-point arc and made nearly 50% of their field goals in the victory.
After the first minute and a half, Bethel never trailed and built a 10-point lead at the half at 34-24. In the second half, the Royals could seemingly not miss and took advantage of several St. Olaf miscues to build their sizable lead. Perhaps the most telling statistic of the afternoon was that the Royals scored 32 points off of turnovers, compared to none - zero, zip, zilch - for the Oles.
Taylor Sheley (So., Backus, Minn.) scored a career-high 22 points today by shooting 8-for-10 from the floor, including 5-for-6 from behind 3-point land.
Scotti Moats (Fr., Waconia, Minn.) bounced back from being held scoreless on Wednesday night against Hamline, to score 14 points in today's game.
Kristi Nye (So., Nashville, Tenn.) and
Rachel Gilbert (Fr., Becker, Minn.) rounded out Bethel's top scorers with 11 and 10 points, respectively.
Shana Grejtak (Jr., Franklin, Minn.) was the leading rebounder with nine.
Mackenzie Wolter led the Oles with 11 points, but also committed 10 of St. Olaf's 24 turnovers.
The win helps Bethel improve to 9-12 overall and 8-10 in the MIAC, while forcing St. Olaf to drop to 4-17 overall and 4-14 in conference play. Bethel has a pair of tough games coming up, starting with St. Thomas on Wednesday night at 7:45 p.m. over at Concordia-University St. Paul's campus.
