ARDEN HILLS, Minn. - Hitting the hardwood at the Robertson Center for the first time in the 2010-11 season, the Bethel Women's Basketball team took on the Tommies from St. Thomas. While the energy level was high, the Tommies came away with the upper hand as they defeated the Royals this evening by a score 61-38.
The Royals had a rough time getting anything together offensively in the first and the Tommies took advantage as Bethel found themselves trailing 35-20 at half.
In the second half of play, much of the same carried over from the first as the Royals could never find their stroke on the evening and had difficulties scoring. Despite a fairly productive night from
Taylor Sheley (Jr., Backus, Minn.), who collected 8 points. The lady Royals eventually lost to a well-balanced Tommie team.
Bethel now moves to 0-2 on the young season and will be hosting St. Mary's University next week where they look to get the monkey off their back and knotch that first win on the season.
