WINONA, Minn. - The Royals were in action today as they competed against conference opponent St. Mary's University. The Royals got off to a good start taking the first set 31- 29, from that point they stayed close but were not able to seal the deal as the Cardinals took the next three sets, 13-25, 20-25, 22-25.

The Royals offense was lead by Nicole Wriedt (Jr., Pewaukee, Wis.), and Caitie Helle (So., Onamia, Minn.) who had 10 and 15 kills respectively. Kate Smith (Jr., Arden Hills, Minn.), and Betsy Naatjes (Sr., Sioux Falls, S.D.) who lead the team with 14 and 28 assists respectively. On the defensive side of the ball the Royals had another impressive performance from Valerie Smith (So., Alexandria, Minn.) who had 25 digs.

The Royals will now close out the season with a two game home stand starting with Gustavus Adolphus College on Wednesday at Robertson Center.
