MOORHEAD- Minn. - The Royals continued to add upsets to their resume on Saturday by defeating the Cobbers. It is their second upset in as many games.
The first half battle was won by the Cobbers, who took an 11 point lead in to the locker room. However, the Royals came out in the second half scoring the first nine points, erasing the deficit. As a team, the Royals did not commit a single foul in the entire second half.
The Royals were led by
Scotti Moats (Fr., Waconia, Minn.) who had a game high 16 points and 11 rebounds for her third double-double of the season.
Taylor Sheley (So., Backus, Minn.) contributed 12 points to the win.
For the Cobbers, Erica Nord led the charge with 15 points.
Even though the Royals committed 22 turnovers, they still found a way to win. Bethel had only committed a combined 21 turnovers in their last two games prior to today's contest.
This victory lifts the Royals record to 8-10 and 7-8 in the MIAC. The loss drops the Cobbers to 12-3 in conference play and 13-5 overall. The Royals play at St. Catherine on Monday night at 7:30 p.m. in Saint Paul.
