To call Marie Borner the Athlete of the Week is a bit of an understatement. Since coming to Bethel in the fall of 2007, she has since won a national championship in three different sports, with her latest feat coming in the 1500 meter run at the 2009 Outdoor Track and Field Championship meet. Borner's time of 4:27.41 broke her own school record from a year ago by .11 seconds and it set a new record for host Marietta College's Don Drumm Stadium. In addition to being a national champion in cross country, indoor and outdoor track and field, Borner is now a two-time NCAA All-American in each of the aforementioned sports.
