Nichols became the first Bethel men's tennis player to earn a victory over an opponent from perennial tennis powerhouse and #8 nationally ranked Gustavus since April 24, 1999 - a span of nearly 10 years. He won his match 7-6, 6-1 to earn Bethel's lone point in an 8-1 loss last Saturday morning at the Fred Wells Tennis and Education Center at Fort Snelling In St. Paul, Minn.
