David Vavra was a Johnnie-killer last Saturday in Collegeville. Vavra had five tackles, including one for a loss, but his biggest contribution to Bethel's 41-20 win was his two interceptions - one of which he ran back for a touchdown. With the score tied 20-20, Vavra's first interception early in the fourth quarter helped set up the eventual game-winning touchdown. Later in the quarter, he added the final nail in the Johnnie coffin by returning his second interception 35 yards for a touchdown, Bethel's first "pick-six" of the season. Bethel's defense entered the game ranked #9 in the nation.
