NORTHFIELD, MINN.—The Bethel University women's cross country team opened their season at the St. Olaf Ole Invitational on Friday, where they took fourth place out of five teams with 112 points. Kiara Gentz commanded the Royals with a 17th-place time of 20:10.6. Next was Hannah Barberg, who crossed the finish line at 20:11.0 en route to 18th place. Emerson Mullen notched a 23rd-place time of 20:22.8, followed by Brylee Cavanaugh in 51st place with a 21:43.0. Kinley Steckler's 21:49.1 put her in 52nd place, while Abby Williamson (22:06.8) and Paige Budde (22:15.3) rounded out the top seven Royals.

Marianna Zanton (22:50.8), Ellana Leach (23:18.2), Elka Sowada (26:10.7), Abby Peterson (26:57.7), and Sophia Vantries (32:39.9) also competed for Bethel.

The Royals will compete at the Saint Benedict Toni St. Pierre Invite on Friday, September 18 at the River Oaks Golf Course in Cold Spring, Minnesota.
