Royals Show Promise at UW-La Crosse and UW-River Falls Meets

ARDEN HILLS, MINN.—The Bethel University women's track & field team had individuals compete at both the UW-La Crosse Mark Guthrie Invitational, and the UW-River Falls Winter Classic on Saturday.

Shalom Sulungaine registered a second-place time of 57.90 in the 400 meter run. Anna Speratos kept the second-place trend alive with a 17.50m in the weight throw. The 60 meter prelims saw Alethia Olson-Skog notch sixth place in the prelims before she crossed the finish line at 7.76 in the finals, good enough for seventh place. 

Fifth place was the case for Michaela Zenz in the 60 hurdle finals, where she notched a 9.12 after she had an eighth-place mark of 9.23 in the prelims.

Ellie Hernes achieved fifth place in the triple jump with an 11.28m, while Nora Larsen's 12.08m in the shot put resulted in seventh place.

UW-River Falls Winter Classic (Results)
Morgan Dean's 1:02.35 in the 400 meter run put her in fifth place. The pole vault saw Raina Kaping achieve sixth place with a 3.05m, followed by Molly Nelson's eighth-place mark of 3.05m.

Brylee Cavanaugh prevailed with a 5:30.17 in the mile, good enough for seventh place. The 200 meter run was all Kayla Evans, who crossed the finish line at 28.60 en route to ninth place.

The Royals will compete at the UW-Stout Quad on Friday, February 14.
