NORTHFIELD, MINN.—The Bethel University women's track & field team had individuals compete in the pentathlon on day one of the 2026 MIAC Indoor Track & Field Championship, hosted by Carleton College in Northfield, Minnesota, on Thursday.
Ellie Hernes took third place in the pentathlon with 3226 points. Her stellar outing gave Bethel six team points.
Hernes earned 628 of those points in the long jump, where she notched second place with a 5.25m while she achieved 840 points with an 8.68 in the 55 meter hurdles, which put her in third place. She took fifth place in both the 800 meter run (2:31.79) and high jump (1.53m), as well as 11th in the shot put (8.50m).
Ally Tyvoll was next with a 12th-place score of 2772 points. She posted an eighth-place time of 2:34.63 in the 800 meter run, and a ninth-place mark of 9.07 in the 55 meter hurdles.
The Royals will return to action on day two of the MIAC Indoor Championship tomorrow, Friday, February 27 in Northfield.
