Emily Erickson Named January 26 MIAC Defensive Player of the Week

ARDEN HILLS, MINN.-Bethel University women's basketball junior forward Emily Erickson was named January 26 MIAC Women's Basketball Defensive Player of the Week. She is the fourth Royal of 2025-26 to earn MIAC Defensive Player of the Week.

The Lindstrom, Minnesota native averaged 7.5 rebounds, 2.5 blocks, one steal, and 22 points per game in a week that consisted of a 67-47 victory over Saint Benedict on January 21, and a 59-53 win over No. 24 Concordia (Minn.) on January 24. Erickson had a double double 21 points, 10 rebounds, three blocks, one steal, and two assists against Saint Benedict. She ended the week with 23 points, five rebounds, and two blocks against Concordia (Minn.).

Through 17 starts in 2025-26, Erickson has a team-leading 18.1 points per game, a .589 (106-of-180) field goal percentage, and 15 blocks.

The Royals (13-4, 8-2 MIAC) will host Macalester on Wednesday, January 28 at 7 p.m.
