ARDEN HILLS, MINN.—The No. 24 Bethel University women's basketball team took care of Macalester 73-50 at the Robertson Center Gymnasium on Wednesday night.
The Royals improve to 14-4, 9-2 MIAC, while the Scots fall to 1-16, 0-11 MIAC.

All five of the game's lead changes occurred in a first quarter that ended with a three-pointer and layup from Elly Schmitz within the final minute, which put the Royals in the driver's seat for good at 15-11. That lead grew as things progressed. Schmitz gave Bethel their largest cushion of the game at 71-45 off two free throw makes with 4:04 left in the fourth quarter before they held on for a 73-50 win.
Schmitz came off the bench with 16 points, eight rebounds, two blocks, and two steals. Emily Erickson followed with 14 points, seven boards, two assists, and two blocks. Next was Cally Peterson, who registered 12 points, four rebounds, two assists, and two steals. Rounding out the double figure scorers was Alli Born, who had 10 points, eight boards, and two assists.
Bethel shot .317 (23-of-62) from the field and .333 (9-of-27) from the three-point line.
Cady Davis paced Macalester with 15 points, followed by 14 from Sydnee Smith.
The Royals will travel to Saint Mary's (Minn.) on Saturday, January 31 at 1 p.m.
