MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. – The Bethel University men's hockey team earned a 4–2 victory Friday night on the road against Augsburg University in MIAC play. Bethel improved its MIAC record with a strong all-around effort at Ed Saugestad Rink.
Bethel struck early in the first period when freshman defenseman George Peterson knocked home a goal at 4:40, giving the Royals a 1–0 lead. Sophomore forward Connor Brazil extended the advantage early in the second, finishing a play at 6:11 for a 2–0 edge heading into the third. Augsburg battled back in the third, scoring at 3:44 to cut the deficit to one. Bethel responded with a power-play strike from senior Spencer Kring at 9:47, and Augsburg answered at 15:55 to make it 3–2. Bethel sealed the win with an empty-net goal by senior Tyler Braccini with less than 11 seconds remaining.
The Royals received contributions throughout the lineup, with balanced scoring and strong goaltending from senior Austin Ryman, who stopped 18 shots in the victory. Bethel's offense made the most of its chances and controlled play in key moments, especially in special teams situations.
