BLAINE, Minn. – The Bethel men's ice hockey team completed a weekend series sweep of Augsburg with a 5–2 victory on Saturday afternoon at Bethel University Arena. The Royals followed up Friday's win with another strong, balanced performance to earn six MIAC points in the two-game series.

Bethel struck first late in the opening period with a shorthanded goal to take a 1–0 lead into the first intermission. The Royals carried momentum into the second period, extending the advantage early before adding a power-play goal midway through the frame to make it 3–0. Augsburg responded later in the period, but Bethel maintained control and headed into the third period with a two-goal cushion.

The Royals continued to apply pressure in the final period, adding another goal just over eight minutes in to regain a three-goal lead. Augsburg answered once more, but Bethel sealed the win with an empty-net goal in the final minutes to secure the 5–2 result and complete the weekend sweep.

Senior Jack Brown led the offensive effort for Bethel with two goals, while senior Logan Anderson, junior Jeremiah Konkel, and senior Tyler Braccini also found the back of the net. Braccini added an assist to finish with a multi-point afternoon, and the Royals received contributions throughout the lineup in the series finale.

In goal, senior Marco Duronio earned the win, turning aside 12 shots and providing steady play between the pipes. Bethel was strong on special teams, scoring on the power play while also adding a shorthanded goal, and limited Augsburg's opportunities throughout the game.

With the victory, Bethel builds momentum in MIAC play as the Royals now prepare to host College of St. Scholastica in their next matchup. Puck drop is scheduled for Friday, January 23 at 7 p.m. at Bethel University Arena as Bethel looks to extend its success in conference play.
