Oles Get Through Royals

ARDEN HILLS, MINN.—The Bethel University men's basketball team fell to St. Olaf 78-68 at the Robertson Center Gymnasium on Wednesday night.

The Royals fall to 6-8, 3-3 MIAC, while the Oles improve to 9-7, 5-2 MIAC.

The bulk of the first half saw Bethel in the driver's seat. Nick Burke led the Royals with 20 points, which included a pair of free throw makes that gave them their largest cushion of the contest at 26-19 with 5:04 on the clock. St. Olaf closed the first half with an 18-2 run that gave them a 37-28 lead at intermission. The Oles didn't relinquish that lead in the second half, where they held onto a 78-68 win.

Blake Schmitz had 15 points and five rebounds, while Sam Gingras followed with 12 points for Bethel. Rounding out the double figure Royals was Jay Neubert, who had 11 points. Caleb Rosendahl finished with a team-leading 10 rebounds.

Rex Lamb had a game-high 22 points on a 4-of-6 three-point clip for St. Olaf, who shot .485 (32-of-66) while Bethel finished .381 (24-of-63). AJ Uhl followed with a double double 21 points and 11 rebounds.

The Royals will travel to St. Scholastica on Saturday, January 17 for a 3 p.m. game.
