Arden Hills, Minn. – The Bethel University women's soccer team dropped a narrow 1-0 contest to Saint Mary's (MN) on Tuesday afternoon at Ona Orth Athletic Complex. The match marked the Royals' first home game in MIAC play this season.
After a scoreless first half, the visiting Cardinals found the back of the net just over a minute into the second half. Despite a solid effort on both ends of the field, Bethel couldn't capitalize on their chances, finishing with seven total shots—three on goal.
Both teams recorded three saves, and the Royals' defense stood strong throughout the match. Saint Mary's held an 8-1 advantage in corner kicks, while Bethel held their own in possession and physical play, committing 12 fouls to the Cardinals' 9.
With the loss, Bethel moves to 0-6-1 overall and 0-1-0 in MIAC action.
The Royals look to bounce back on Saturday as they hit the road to face Saint Benedict in continued conference play.
