MENOMONIE, Wis. – The Bethel University women's soccer team put together a strong second-half effort but came up just short in a 2-1 loss at Wisconsin-Stout on Sunday evening at Nelson Field.
The Match
Stout struck first in the 40th minute when Anna Odisho converted on a feed from Mckenna Long. The Blue Devils doubled their lead midway through the second half on an unassisted strike by Kayla White in the 58th minute.
Bethel responded just minutes later, as forward Sarah Motalebi netted her first career goal in the 65th minute, assisted by Mia Backous, trimming the deficit to one.
Despite a surge in the final 25 minutes—including 4 total second-half shots and a corner kick—the Royals couldn't find the equalizer.
