WHITEWATER, Wis. – The Bethel University women's soccer team came up just short in its first road match of the season, falling 1–0 to UW–Whitewater earlier today. The Royals drop to 0-1-1 on the year.
Bethel created several chances in the opening half. Eva Patenaude and Mia Backous each placed shots on goal, while Hailey Bergan and Malia Beilby both registered early attempts that just missed the frame.
On the defensive end, goalkeeper Abby Wright kept the Royals in the match with seven saves, holding UW–Whitewater scoreless through the first half. The Warhawks eventually broke through in the second, and Bethel was unable to find an equalizer despite continued effort.
