The Royals kicked off the 2025–26 season in style on Friday night with a 2–0 road win over the University of Northwestern (MN). It was a strong all-around performance, with Bethel controlling possession, creating steady chances, and locking things down defensively.
The scoring started late in the first half when Jordan Ross finally broke through in the 44th minute, finishing after several early attempts were turned away. His goal gave the Royals a 1–0 lead going into the break and capped off a dominant first 45.
In the second half, David Erickson added insurance with a well-placed goal to make it 2–0. The Royals kept pressing offensively and stayed compact in the back to see out the clean sheet.
Goalkeeper Griffin Blokker earned the shutout with a composed performance, while the midfield and back line stayed organized throughout.
