RESULTS
ST. PAUL, Minn. - The Bethel Royals are in 5th place after day 1 of the MIAC Championships with 34.5 team points. Concordia Moorhead leads the team competition with 67 points, St. Olaf is 2nd with 64 points, Gustavus is 3rd with 49.5 points, and St. Ben's is 4th with 44 points.
Nora Wilhelm won her 1st MIAC title in shot put with a massive personal best throw of 13.30m / 43'7.75" - more than a foot better than her previous best. That throw ranks Wilhelm 33rd in Division III.
Emily Pearson earned a place on the podium, as she cleared 3.38m / 11'1" in the pole vault for 3rd place. Raina Kaping cleared 3.28m / 10'9" and finished in a tie for 4th place.
Jordan Stanislowski took 3rd place in the long jump as she leaped a personal best 5.44m / 17'10.25".Â
The 4x800m relay team of Anna Cargill, Kiara Gentz, Estle Nelson, and Ruby Gernandt earned 2 points with their 7th place finish in a time of 9:58.31.
The Royals started off the meet with team points earned by the heptathletes. Hailey Scholten took 5th with 3,893 points, and Hannah Moe took 7th with 3,478 points.Â
The Royals also qualified athletes to Saturday's finals:
- 100m - Jireh Babalola, Autumn Maki, Raina Kaping
- 200m - Jireh Babalola
- 400m - Shalom Sulungaine, Sarah Stellmach, Madi Pelowski, Hailey Gregg, Abbie Swenson
- 110H - Kelsie Sealock, Hannah Bingham, Hailey Scholten
- 400H - Kelsie Sealock, Hannah Kvant, Hannah Bingham
Day 2 will begin at Macalester at noon on Saturday, with the women's hammer throw, while running events will start at 1:30PM with the men's 4x100m relay, followed by the women.
