Minneapolis, Minn. – The #39-ranked Bethel University women's tennis team continued its impressive run with a commanding 8–1 victory over #60 St. Catherine University on Thursday evening at the Baseline Tennis Center. The win moves the Royals to 12–4 overall and 7–1 in MIAC play — officially locking in a
Top-3 seed for the upcoming MIAC Playoffs.
Bethel came out firing, sweeping all three doubles courts. The top tandem of
Lauryn Douglas and Michaella Sullivan led the charge with an 8–3 win, while
Julia Baber and Emma Thole matched the score at No. 2.
Payton Douglas and Courtney Nuest completed the sweep with an 8–5 decision at No. 3 doubles.
In singles, the Royals didn't slow down. Despite a hard-fought loss by
Douglas at the top spot, Bethel took the remaining five courts in dominant fashion.
Sullivan,
Keller,
Baber, and
Nuest all earned straight-set wins, while
Thole battled through a third-set super tiebreak to seal the win at No. 5.
The dominant performance further cements Bethel's position among the MIAC elite, with just two matches remaining.
