DAY ONE RESULTS
CHATTANOOGA, TENNESSEE— Lauryn Douglas (singles and doubles) and Michaella Sullivan (doubles) concluded their 2025-26 season on day one of the 2026 NCAA Division III Women's Tennis Individual Championship in Chattanooga, Tennessee on Friday.
Douglas opened the singles flight with a 6-2, 6-3 triumph of Aspen Young (Colorado College) in the round of 32. This result earned Douglas N2026 CAA Division III Singles All-American honors. She is the second Royal in program history to earn NCAA Singles All-American after Grace Riemann became the first in 2021.
The victory pitted Douglas against Lauren Rha (Pomona-Pitzer) in the round of 16, where she dropped her first match of the season by a 6-3, 2-6, 6-2 decision. Douglas finished the 2026 season with a 22-2 singles record, and a 70-26 career singles record between dual and tournament play.
The doubles flight took place in the evening, where Douglas/Sullivan dropped their second match of the season by a 4-6, 6-2, 6-1 decision to Ally Lin/Eliana Hanna (WashU) in the round of 16. Douglas/Sullivan finish the 2026 season with a 26-5 record, and notched a 55-14 career record between tournament and dual play.
This marked Bethel's first appearance in the NCAA Division III Women's Tennis Individual Championship since 2021-22, when Grace Riermann and Sydney Rott qualified.
