ROGERS, Minn. – Coming off a tough loss to nationally-ranked Denison, the No. 33rd-ranked Bethel University women's tennis team earned a 6-1 bounce-back win over Wisconsin-La Crosse Sunday afternoon. BU snapped the Eagles six-match winning streak.
UWL entered having not lost a doubles match in their last six games. BU ended that streak earning the doubles point with wins in two of the three matches.
Emma Thole and
Elisabeth Langhus continued their dominance winning their sixth straight and fifth that has come as the No. 3 duo.
Lauryn Douglas and
Michaella Sullivan got back in the win column never trailing in their match. After being tied at 5-5 they captured the final two games.
BU rolled in singles play, taking five of the six matches. Douglas, at No. 1 and coming off a nationally ranked win, won her fourth straight, taking it 6-3, 7-5.
Julia Baber at No. 4 won in straight sets that included a tiebreaker in the second set. Courtney Nuest at No. 6 won her opening set 7-5 before dropping the second 1-6. She'd win in third set tiebreaker 10-4.
