Hay Drops Season-High 16 Points as Royals Extend Winning Streak to 10

NORTHFIELD, Minn. – Forward Lydia Hay dropped a season-high 16 points as the No. 25th-ranked Bethel University women's basketball team extended its winning streak to 10 games with a 67-52 win at Carleton Wednesday evening.

Hay added seven rebounds and two blocks to the stat line while shooting 6-of-14. Anna Garfield wasn't too far behind her with 14 points and matching a career-high four triples. Off the bench, Macey Littlefield chipped in 11 points and seven rebounds.

Hay and Garfield each knocked down a pair of triples, giving BU a 20-14 advantage after the opening quarter. BU kept the hot hand behind the arc, with Alli Born knocking down a pair of her own and Garfield hitting her fourth of the game in the Royals' final possession.

Bethel took a 41-24 lead into the break after shooting 76.9 percent (10-of-13) from long distance and holding Carleton to a 28.6 percent mark from the field.

A turnaround jump shot from Hay with 4:53 left in the third quarter gave BU its largest lead of the game at 48-26. She'd then beat the buzzer on a jumper following a nice pass from Ali Born as the Royals lead 54-34 heading into the final 20 minutes.

The win keeps the Royals atop the MIAC standings at 13-0. They improve to 17-3 overall.
