ARDEN HILLS, Minn. — The Bethel University men's basketball team dropped its eighth straight in a 73-56 loss to the Hamline Pipers.
Nick Burke scored a team-leading 18 points while
Colter Stone added 10 points.Â
A three from Stone, followed by a fast break layup by
Adam Mattes made it a 9-7 game five minutes into the first half. A 21-5 run opened up a 30-12 Pipers lead over the next nine minutes.
Stone's layup with under a minute left ended a two minute scoring drought as BU went into the break down 45-18.
Blake Schmitz knocked down a three to get the Royals back to within 20 early in the second half.
Nick Burke hit a 15 foot jumper to make it a 59-40 game. With eight minutes to play Colter hit from beyond the arc to cut the deficit to 18 after trailing by 31 five minutes into the second.Â
