Anna Garfield eclipsed the 1,000-career point mark as the Bethel University women's basketball team defeated Carleton 77-47 Wednesday night inside the Robertson Center.

Garfield finished the night with eight points while adding 10 rebounds.
Elly Schmitz chipped in a team-high 17 points and brought in a career-high 13 rebounds.
Emily Erickson added 11 points off the bench.

For the night, Bethel shot 39.4 percent from the field while holding the Knights to 32.7 percent. BU held a big edge on the boards, outrebounding the opposition by a 52-32 margin. Â
Trailing for 2:53 of the opening quarter and leading for 3:15 of it, BU took a 16-14 into the second quarter. Defense ramped up in the second as BU went on a 10-1 run over a 4:48 stretch, opening up the advantage to 29-18. The Royals eventually took a 38-24 lead into the break as Carleton knocked down a three at the buzzer.

Garfield surpassed the 1,000-career point milestone by knocking down a baseline 18-footer to open up the second-half scoring. Having its best shooting quarter of the night at 53.3 percent, BU led 57-37 heading into the fourth.

The Royals outscored the Knights 20-10 in the fourth holding the Knights to three field goals and four makes at the charity stripe.
