RIVER FALLS, Wis. – A three-goal first from the Bethel University men's hockey team carried the Royals to a 6-3 road win at Wisconsin-River Falls Friday evening.
Spencer Kring netted two of Bethel's goals while
Chase Beacom tallied three assists on the night.
Jeremiah Konkel opened up the Royals scoring lighting up the lamp with just over 10 minutes left in the opening frame.
Spencer Kring made it 2-0 just under three minutes later.
UWRF got one back, scoring exactly two minutes while on their first power play of the night. The Royals then connected on their only power play of the night as
Shane Lavelle netted his third of the season. Bethel took a 3-1 advantage into the first breaking after outshooting the Falcons 16-7.
The Falcons made it a one-goal game 3:49 into the second before
Braeden Bartoo pushed the lead back to two at the 9:55 mark.
It didn't take long for UWRF to bring it back to one scoring 31 seconds later. Kring got his second of the night with 54 seconds before the horn and sending the Royals into the locker room up 5-3 heading into the third.
Tyler Braccini added the Royals' final score, doing so 50 seconds into the final frame.
Austin Ryman in net collected 30 saves, getting 12 in both the second and third.

Improving to 7-5-1 on the year, Bethel is back into conference play the rest of the way. Next weekend's series with Augsburg opens up at home on Friday, Jan. 17 at 7 p.m.
