The Bethel women's soccer team suffered a tough loss to a fierce Carleton College Knights team in their third MIAC game of the season, 6-0. The loss moves the Royals to a 5-3-1 record overall.
How It Happened:
- The Knights wasted no time establishing a lead, breaking onto the scoreboard just five minutes into the game and adding second and third goals at 25:36 and 44:22. The Knights' defense decisively shut down any Royal offensive opportunity and held them to just one shot in the first half.
- The Royals' defense failed to limit the number of corner kicks, allowing nine corners in only the first half, one of which resulted in a goal.
- Unfortunately for the Royals, the second half looked largely the same as the Knights extended their lead by two, scoring at 50:24, 70:35, and 84:22. They outshot the Royals by a significant margin, totalling 25 shots to the Royals' 2.
What's Next:
The Royals will return home to Ona Orth Athletic Complex to take on the Macalester College Scots this Tuesday, Oct. 1. Kickoff is set for 4 p.m.
