The Bethel women's soccer team fell to the St. Olaf College Oles in their first MIAC game of the season, 7-0. The loss moves the Royals to a season record of 4-2-1 as they look ahead to more MIAC play later this week.
How It Happened:
- The Oles struck hard and often in the first half, gaining a 4-0 lead heading into half after two goals between the seventh and ninth minute kickstarted their offense. It was quiet for some time as the Royals mustered a counterattack, but the Oles found their momentum again and notched two more goals at 33:55 and 35:42.
- The second half saw more of the same as the Oles continued their dominance, scoring three additional goals at 53:29, 62:22 and 65:60. The Royals' offense couldn't anything going with only two shots on goal for the half.
What's Next:
The Royals will have the opportunity to add a tally in the MIAC win column again this weekend as they make the trek up to Duluth to take on the College of St. Scholastica Saints. Kickoff is set for 1 p.m.
