RESULTS
ST. PAUL, Minn. - Keslie Sealock set a program record in her first ever 400m hurdle race as the Royals competed at the Hamline Invite on Saturday. Sealock won the 400m hurdles in a time of 62.66 seconds, breaking Pam Stielstra's record of 62.87 from 1987. Her time is the 5th fastest in Division III this year. Sealock also took 2nd place in the 100m hurdles, running a season best 13.93 seconds - the 2nd fastest time in Division III.
Hannah Kvant placed 5th in her 400m hurdle debut, running 66.04. That time ranks 34th in Division III and is the 2nd best time in the MIAC next to Sealock. Jessie Smith was 7th in a personal best 67.57 seconds.
Jireh Babalola won the 100m dash by running 12.29 seconds. Raina Kaping took 8th place with a time of 12.85 seconds.Â
Kaping also earned a 2nd place finish in the pole vault with her clearance of 3.30m / 10'10". Emily Pearson took 3rd place with the same height as Kaping.
The Royals also went 2-3 in the 400m dash. Abbie Swenson was the runner-up with a time of 59.88 while Reanna Cruz was 3rd in 60.37. Morgan Dean placed 7th for Bethel with a season best time of 61.74.
Annessa Ihde earned 2nd place in the 1500m as she ran a personal best time of 4:41.40. That time ranks her 40th in Division III.Â
Shalom Sulungaine took 6th place in the 800m with a time of 2:23.67. Ruby Gernandt was 8th with a time of 2:24.24.
Ellie Hernes was 2nd in the long jump with her leap of 5.10m / 16'8.75". Jordan Stanisloski was 4th with a jump of 4.80m / 15'9".Â
Nora Wilhelm finished in scoring position in 3 throwing events. Wilhelm took 4th place in the shot put (12.21m / 40'0.75"), 5th in the discus (36.15m / 118'7"), and 7th in the hammer (43.67m / 143'3"). Anna Speratos took 6th in the hammer with a personal best throw of 45.47m / 149'2".
The 4x400m relay team of Swenson, Sulungaine, Smith, and Cruz took 2nd place with their time of 4:01.16. That is the 23rd fastest time in Division III this year and is the top time in the MIAC.
The Royals compete next at their home meet - The Bethel Invitational - on Saturday, April 13th at Royal Stadium.
