COLLEGEVILLE, Minn. - The Royals competed at the SJU/CSB Invitational on Saturday, April 20th, earning a pair marks that rank in the top-10 in program history.
AnnaGrace Nelson won the 100m hurdles in a personal best time of 15.15 seconds. Nelson's time is the 2nd fastest time in the MIAC this year next to teammate Kelsie Sealock, and is also the 3rd best time in program history. Ally Stackhouse ran 17.02 seconds for 4th place.
Laura Hardwick earned a hard fought 2nd place finish in the 10k. Hardwick used a negative split to run a personal best time of 39:00.78 - over a minute faster than her previous best. Hardwick's time is now the 10th best in program history.
Ruby Gernandt ran a tactically sound 1500m to take 2nd place with her time of 5:04.36. Anna Cargill was 5th in 5:07.25, while Esther Nelson took 6th in a personal best 5:08.84.
Nora Wilhelm picked up a pair of 3rd place finishes in the throws. Wilhelm threw 37.11m / 121'9" in the discus and 46.41m / 152'3" in the hammer. Anna Speratos was 4th in the hammer with 46.08m / 151'2", and 5th in the discus with 36.69m / 120'4".
Jordan Stanisloski took 3rd place in the long jump with a leap of 4.97m / 16'2.25".
Jessie Smith stepped away from her normal hurdle race to run the flat 400m, earning 5th place with a time of 62.21 seconds.
The Royals will compete at several different meets next week. Bethel will have several athletes at the University of Minnesota on Wednesday evening, the Drake Relays Thursday through Saturday, and Macalester on Thursday and Saturday.
