ARDEN HILLS, Minn. – Bethel women's tennis got back in the win column Saturday afternoon with an 8-1 victory over St. Scholastica.
After the Royals took a 3-0 lead in doubles, they completed the victory with five wins in singles play. Three of six matches involved a single set tiebreak, with one even going into a third set tiebreak.
HOW IT HAPPENED
• No. 3 doubles team
Courtney Nuest and
Bryna Eigenfeld won Bethel their first point of the match, sweeping their opponents 8-0

Lauryn Douglas at No. 1 singles dropped her first set 3-6, but was able to fight back, exchanging breaks in the second before finally taking it 6-4. In the third set tiebreak, she was able to break her opponent at 3-3 and eventually took a 7-3 lead before closing the match out 3-6, 6-4, 10-5.
• Freshman
Malia McKinnon won her first-ever MIAC singles match in straight sets 6-3, 7-5.
• Junior
Emma Thole could not shake her No. 4 singles opponent all throughout the first set, ultimately leading to a tiebreaker that she at last won 11-9. The second set was much simpler, with Thole quickly pulling ahead 5-1. She then gave up two more games before winning it all 7-6 (11-9), 6-3
