VIRGINIA BEACH, VA - AnnaGrace Nelson placed 10th in the pentathlon and Annessa Ihde and Kelsie Sealock both set program records during day 1 of the NCAA Indoor Championships. 

AnnaGrace Nelson completed her 3rd pentathlon in 3 weeks and scored 3,277 points to place 10th overall. Nelson is the first Royal to compete at the national championships in the women's multi-event. She set a personal record in the 60 meters hurdles of 9.18 (873 points), cleared 1.53m / 5'0.25" (655 points) in the high jump, threw the shot put 9.20m / 30'2.25" (477 points), jumped 5.14m / 16'10.5" in the long jump, and ran a personal best 2:31.49 (674 points) in the 800m.

Kelsie Sealock won her heat of the 60 meter hurdle prelims by running a program record 8.46 seconds. That time is the 5th fastest in Division III history and she goes into the finals where 0.08 seconds separates the top 5 personal best times. The final will be run on Saturday at 1:00PM Central. 

Annessa Ihde qualified for the finals of the 800m run by running a program record time of 2:10.70 to advance as the first time qualifier. Ihde's time broke 6-time NCAA Champion Marie Borner's school record of 2:11.39 set in 2010. Ihde will run in the 8-person final on Saturday at 2:50PM Central.

The women's 4x400m relay team of Sealock, Hailey Gregg, Abbie Swenson, and Shalom Sulungaine advanced to Saturday's final by posting the 6th fastest time in the prelims. The Royals ran a season best 3:51.36 and will race in the final at 4:20PM Central on Saturday.

Ellie Hernes will get competition underway for Bethel on Saturday, as the women's triple jump begins at 12:30PM Central.
