WINONA, Minn. – A balanced scoring attack, that saw 10 Royals find the scoring column, gave the Bethel University women's basketball team a 73-45 win at Saint Mary's Saturday afternoon.
The Royals shot 47.2 percent for the afternoon while holding the Cardinals to 30 percent. BU dominated the boards by a 41-29 margin.
HOW IT HAPPENED
First Half
• The Royals closed the opening quarter on a 10-0 run over the finale 4:19 to lead 21-7.
• Bethel's defense held SMU to a pair of field goals and a free throw in the second quarter.
• A 14-0 run over a five-minute stretch helped the Royals extend their lead to 37-9 with 3:07 to go in the half.
• Shooting 50 percent in the second quarter, BU led 39-12 at the break.
Second Half
•
Colette Duininck opened up the second half scoring with a triple on a nice pass from
Anna Garfield.
• BU kept its hot hand going 8-of-11 from the field and outscored the Cardinals 23-16 to lead 62-28.
• Duininck knocked down her second three of the game with 7:57 left giving the Royals their largest lead of the game at 67-30.

Anna Garfield notched her second straight double-double with 19 points and 10 rebounds.
