Rosalie Penke's career-high 18 points paced the Bethel University women's basketball team in a 66-49 win at Augsburg Wednesday night.

Holding a five-point lead at the break, the Royals outscored the Auggies 33-21 in the second half moving BU's record to 10-8 on the year and 8-5 in conference play.

Despite a tough shooting night at 39.2 percent, the Royals defense held Augsburg to 31.9 percent from the floor and 1-of-6 from three. BU also dominated the boards by a 49-23 margin and 16-5 on the offensive end.

HOW IT HAPPENED
First Half
• Both teams struggled to find the bottom of the net early as the first quarter ended with Augsburg leading a tight 10 minutes 14-13.
• A 5-0 run for Bethel over a 32 second stretch was the biggest run by either team in the first half and it put the Royals up 29-23 with 3:17 to go.
• Giving up just one field goal in the final 2:30 of the half and offensive production from
Rosalie Penke and
Emily Erickson, who combined for 11 points in the second quarter, gave BU a 33-28 advantage at the break.

Second Half
• The Royals held Augsburg to five field goals in the second half, four which came in the fourth quarter.
• Five of Augsburg's seven points in the third came from the charity stripe. A three from
Anna Garfield late helped the royals lead 47-35 heading into the fourth.
• Garfield cashed in again from three with 5:35 left in the game before the Royals scored their final nine points at the line.

KEY PERFORMERS
•
Rosalie Penke added nine boards and three assists to her 6-of-7 shooting performance. She was also 6-of-7 from the charity stripe.
•
Anna Garfield chipped in a 16-point, 10-rebound double-double. She added five steals, three assists and two blocks in 35 minutes of action.
•
Emily Erickson and
Elly Schmitz each contributed seven points and seven boards.
