HOW IT HAPPENED
First Half
• An up and down first quarter saw both teams get hot from behind the arc early. Three of the Royals eight makes in the first were behind the arc while the Cobbers knocked down five of their eight makes from three.
• Trailing by as many as seven almost midway through, a three ball from Schmitz and a layup by Garfield gave BU a brief one-point lead before trailing 24-20 after one.
• Late in the second, BU's defense held Concordia without a bucket over a two-and-a-half-minute stretch while a three from
Colette Duininck gave BU the lead back.
• The Royals were limited to a pair of makes from the charity stripe in the final 90 seconds as they went into the half leading 38-37.
Â
Second Half
• The tide changed in the third quarter with Bethel being held to three field goals and 0-fo-5 behind the arc. Concordia was limited to five field goals and no makes behind the arc, but made three trips to the line.
• An 8-2 run to close the third for Concordia put the Royals down 51-44 heading into the fourth.
• Bethel still couldn't find the bottom of the net being limited to three field goals again. But this time they were able to go 8-fo-13 from the free throw line.
• Concordia outscored the Royals 22-14 in the fourth behind a three triples and 7-of-18 shooting.
