ARDEN HILLS, Minn. – The Bethel University volleyball team got back to their winning ways with a sweep over the Carleton Knights on Saturday night of Bethel's Homecoming Week. The Royals won in three straight sets by scores of 25-13, 25-12, and 25-18. Royals improve to 4-10 (1-2).
HOW IT HAPPENED
First Set
• Royals dominated on both sides, holding the Knights to a .160 hitting percentage while having a .400 of their own
• With the game at 10-7, BU would go on a 8-0 run to grasp control of set one, leading 18-7 and never turning back
• The Royals forced the Knights into five first set errors
Second Set
• BU once again dominated on both ends, keeping Carleton to a -.031 hitting percentage, while they boasted a .286
• With the game tied at 7-7, the Royals would go on a 16-4 run - taking control of set two and the match
• Set two had six
Danielle Friedges kills, with four of them coming in a five point stretch
Third Set
• The Knights did not go down easily, as there were three ties and four lead changes throughout the final set
• The competitive final set was pushed out of reach for Carleton, when Bethel went on a 8-3 run to push their lead to 18-11
• Royals offense showed their muscles again, with a .314 hitting percentage to the Knights .226
