ROSEVILLE, Minn.--The Bethel men's soccer team took down the University of Northwestern in their season opener Friday evening, 2-0.
How It Happened
• The Royals outshot the Eagles 17-8, keeping Northwestern's defense under constant pressure.
• The game was aggressive and competitive from the very beginning with Northwestern's Tim DeLoye receiving a caution just two minutes in.
• A penalty kick from sophomore
Ryan Swanda in the 10th minute put Bethel on the scoreboard.
• Less than a minute later, senior
Youssef Abdallah, assisted by freshman
Eli Duke, earned the Royals another goal–the final goal of the game.
What's Next
The Bethel men's soccer team will host Crown College tomorrow at Ona Orth Athletic Complex with the match set to begin at 5:30 p.m. Monday's match verus Coe has been postponed due to excessive heat.
