Set to make its second straight super regional appearance, the No. 11th ranked Bethel University softball team will square off with No. 4 Linfield for the first time in program history in a best-of-three game series. The winner advances to the eight-team finals set to take place in Marshal, Texas at East Texas Baptist University June 1-7.

The Royals enter the Super Regional 36-3 overall and is one win shy of tying the single-season record after posting a 37-7 mark in 2022. BU is on a program-best 26-game winning streak that started back on Friday, March 17 with a 5-2 win over Sewanee in the Spring Break trip finale.Â

• Head coach
Penny Foore is in her ninth season at the helm of the program amassing a 202-114 all-time record. Recently named the MIAC Coach of the Year for the second straight season, she has recorded back-to-back 30-plus win seasons and has 25-plus wins in five of those years. Foore's squad posted a 20-0 record in conference play, the first MIAC team to be perfect since 2013.

Kayla Simacek comes into the weekend as the Division III leader in strikeouts with 344 punchouts. She is currently five Ks shy of tying her single-season record and her 922 career Ks ranks 24th all-time in DIII. Earlier this week she was named MIAC Pitcher of the Year for the second straight season and is now a three-time All-MIAC honoree.

Allie Fauth-Kilgore who is the Royals' first-ever five-time All-Region honoree 2018 (2T), 2019 (2T), 2021 (1T), 2022 (3T), 2023 (2T).

• Simacek's 25 strikeouts last weekend was the second most by a pitcher in a regional. In her last seven starts, she has tossed six shutouts and only allowed six walks in 51 innings of work.

Allie Fauth-Kilgore's 141 stolen bases ranks 11th all-time in Division III. Her 35 swipes is second most in a single season only behind her 42 form last year.
